01. Nine Arches Bridge

An architectural masterpiece, the Nine Arches Bridge is one of Sri Lanka’s most photographed landmarks. Spanning 91 meters and standing 24 meters high, this colonial-era bridge is built entirely of brick, stone, and cement—without any steel reinforcement. At 1,898.1 meters (6,227 feet) above sea level, this is the highest point of Sri Lanka’s railway network. From here, you can witness the stunning transition between the lush highlands and the descending slopes of the Uva region—a must-see vantage point.

08. Demodara Loop
